 With its 220 km of maintained trails, Ramsau is truly a paradise for cross country ski-enthusiasts. The trails are groomed daily. They are divided into three levels (1.100-2.700 m) and best yet, they start in front of the hotel.  Ramsau am Dachstein is part of Austria's biggest wintersports areas, called Ski Amadé. Just a couple of minutes from our hotel, you'll drive into the Vier Berge Skischaukel (Four Mountain Ski-Link), one of Austria's biggest and finest interconnected system of ski slopes. Alpine ski mapsIn Ramsau you'll find various ski schools and ideal slopes to practice on. Hiring equipment for skiing, snowboarding or cross country skiing can be done in one of the many sport pro shops in the area. Skischule Pitzer (= link to one of the ski schools)  From Snow-shoeing to tour-skiing, anything is possible; 70 km of winter-hiking trails, 70 horse-sleighs and for the experienced skiers there is the great opportunity to descend (under accompaniment of a mountain guide) the 3000 meter Dachsteingletsjer.  De Dachsteingletsjer, which offer winter sport facilities throughout the whole year, is Austria's third highest mountain. But for non-skieers this area will also be a one-of a-kind experience; when the the weather conditions are right one may see into the Czech Republic and past Munich! It's an unforgettable and breath-taking spectacle to behold. |
